Millionfish

On the night of April 17th 2016 Jupiter was at its brightest in the night sky, appearing on the black canvas as a small star - warm in colour and soft edged.

The previous night had been loud and full of sporadic lights that mirrored pulsing synths; thunder and lightning that shot through the air to shake sweat off the writhing mass of bodies.

The air was wet, the music was loud, the crowd heaved.

Now it is morning, the others have left, apart from us four, slumped in and on corners. The moisture has settled to the floor to gather in small puddles, big enough for one fish.

Millionfish is a short dance film made in collaboration with filmmaker Matt Jamie and writer Charlie Dearnley - alongside participatory film A School of Millionfish created with students from Cramlington Learning Village.
