Abundance

It’s an open space.

It’s an empty aisle in a supermarket.

It’s a rumbling, like a ppprrhhhgh.

Abundance is a new full-length dance work featuring an intergenerational cast of six performers: three volunteer performers in their 60s and three professional performers in their 30s, accompanied by live music from Me Lost Me.

It begins with a pause - a spacious moment of stillness. People move, howl, rest, leap, reverberate, and hold one another. Moments emerge and dissolve. Colourful duvets are worn, sculpted, hidden under, and danced within.

The work asks: Can you feel it? Do you feel abundant right now?

Informed by the work of writer adrienne maree brown, Abundance redefines abundance as a sense of having and being enough - and explores themes of connection, time scarcity, authenticity, pleasure, and community, countering the idea that we must acquire more to be worthy.

Softly urgent yet fiercely hopeful, Abundance invites audiences to feel abundance in their own bodies.

Breathe it in.

Breathe it out.
